Don’t Get Duped, You Can Snag A Nissan Z For Less Than MSRP

  • As recently as last year, the flagship Z Nismo was seen with markups of almost $60,000.
  • Hundreds of Zs are looking for new homes across the U.S.
  • Nissan has started to reward dealers with $500 for each Z they sell.

In late 2022 and throughout much of 2023, Nissan dealerships across the United States were selling the 2024 Z with extreme markups. We even came across one dealership in Georgia that slapped an absurd $60,000 ‘market adjustment’ fee on the sports car. Earlier this week, we reported on another dealer seeking a $20,000 markup on a Nismo Z.

Fortunately for those who have been patiently waiting for a 2024 Z, the trend of extreme markups appears to be fading away.

This month, Nissan has launched an incentive program known as the Z Retail and Lease Flat Pay program for dealers. This program pays dealers up to $500 for each Z they can sell until July 8. Of that $500, $350 goes to Sales Consultants and $150 is offered to Sales Managers. To shift units, some dealers have started selling Zs for less than MSRP.

Cars Direct found one dealership in Torrance, California, selling a six-speed manual 2024 Z Performance for $2,580 under MSRP. The Hyman Bros Nissan dealership in Richmond, Virginia also has a 2024 Z Sport for sale for $42,808 which is $1,432 under the car’s MSRP.

It’s not just the standard Z that can be found for under MSRP, as good deals on the more exclusive Z Nismo can also be found. For example, the Nissan of Downtown LA dealer is selling a 2024 Z Nismo for $62,186, representing a saving of $6,909 over its MSRP. That’s quite surprising as it was only in October last year that we came across a Z Nismo for sale from El Monte Nissan in California with an absurd $89,995 markup.

It’s worth pointing out that it could take quite a bit of shopping around to find a competitively priced Z that’s near you. With that being said, there are almost 1,200 Zs currently listed on AutoTrader across the United States and plenty with delivery miles available for between $41,000 and $45,000.

The Nissan of Downtown LA dealership isn’t the only place selling the Z at under MSRP. Of the 303 available through AutoTrader, there are dozens with delivery miles priced from $59,000 to $67,000.
