Nissan Offers 13,000 Reasons To Get A New Ariya EV

Key Takeaways

  • Nissan is offering up to $13,000 off the new Ariya for 24-month leases.
  • Monthly costs for the Ariya are competitive, even with the down payment included.
  • $13,000 discount is possible with certain incentives included, along with appealing lease deals.

Nissan is slashing prices for the Ariya, its all-electric crossover with up to 389 horsepower. According to a dealer bulletin seen by CarsDirect, customers could receive a $13,000 discount when leasing the 2024 Ariya. This makes the EV very affordable to drive in some cases.

According to the document, the deal is limited to 24-month leases, with the 18- and 36-month contracts offering only $7,500 off. For customers in New York, an Ariya Engage (the entry-level trim) is available for just $169 a month for two years, with $6,069 due at signing.

Almost As Cheap To Lease As The ICE-Powered Rogue

While the monthly payment is appealing, the total monthly cost is $422 once you factor in the initial down payment. However, that’s still a decent price, as the ICE-powered Rogue is around $400 p/m despite being $9,000 cheaper. The publication notes that the MY2024 Ariya (on a 24-month leasing contract) is more affordable than the 2023 model on an 18-month plan. That is listed at $219 p/m over 18 months, with $4,099 due at signing, which works out to an effective monthly cost of $447.

That means buyers can get a newer car for less money, although they will have to stick with it for an extra six months. CarsDirect also notes that Nissan has introduced a Select Summer Bonus Cash Program that reduces the price for certain vehicles by $2,000. Only inventory with designated VINs and from the oldest 20% of dealer stock are eligible for this. In total, this works out to around $12,000 in discounts before any dealer incentives kick in.

Up To $13,000 In Potential Discounts

And if you drive an Infiniti or Nissan and are looking to trade in, there’s a chance you could qualify for the $1,000 loyalty discount. That’s a potential saving of $13,000, bringing the $39,590 price down to $26,590 if purchased via leasing. Interestingly, Nissan isn’t making a big deal about the discounts, but they have most likely been put in place to drum up EV sales and clear existing stock out before the MY2025 vehicles arrive. In recent months, Nissan has encouraged dealers to sell cars below invoice, which hasn’t sat well with retailers.

But if you’re willing to spend more, there are some fantastic deals on the more luxurious Cadillac Lyriq. With a monthly cost of $477 p/m (with the initial payment included), lessees can find themselves behind the wheel of a more powerful, more refined, and more prestigious electric car for an extra $55 p/m. This is tied to a three-year contract, so those who don’t like keeping cars for long may not find this appealing, but for everyone else, it’s certainly worth looking at.
