Kia has announced pricing for the 2025 Sorento, and it starts at the same point as the 2024 model, despite some updates. As before, the crossover carries a base MSRP of $31,990, topping out at $47,390 for the range-topping X-Pro SX-P AWD model. Pricing for the Sorento Hybrid was already revealed earlier in the year, but to recap, the cheapest version is the Sorento Hybrid EX FWD, with a base price of $38,690. Step up to the AWD model, and you’ll pay $46,890. Finally, the most expensive hybrid is the SX Prestige AWD, which costs $46,890. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at what the unelectrified model costs, keeping in mind that all prices listed above and below exclude the manufacturer’s destination charger of $1,375.

Nine Trims For Different Budgets
Excluding the three hybrid-powered alternatives, Sorento buyers have nine trims to choose from, and with a $1,600 price increase for the base model in 2024, it’s a welcome relief to find no increase for the 2025 model year, with even the top trim maintaining parity with the 2024 Sorento. Conversely, 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe pricing starts at $44,950, but that’s now in a new generation and is all the better for it.

Updates are very minor for the new model year. There’s a single color change, with Gravity Gray being replaced by Panthera Metal. This new color is expected to be available when production begins in September. Elsewhere, the top-tier X-Line and X-Pro trims now get black Kia logos for the front and rear emblems and wheel center caps, as well as for the Sorento script on the tailgate. Why are the changes so small?
The Sorento Is Still Fresh
The Sorento was only recently updated, hence the minor adjustments to this year’s model. For the 2024 model year, the car was given fresher styling, but the big news was the arrival of the more off-road-friendly X-Line and X-Pro trims. The former variant adds a roof rack, unique bumpers, a gloss black front grille, 20-inch wheels, and a locking center differential. The X-Pro gets smaller 17-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. This model is also capable of towing up to 4,000 pounds.

Surging prices are expected yearly, but it’s a pleasant surprise when a beloved best-seller receives a negligible increase.
Across the range, only two powertrains are on offer. Lower trims get a 2.5-liter inline-four producing 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, while those on the upper end of the scale get a turbocharged 2.5-liter with 281 hp and 311 lb-ft. The more powerful engine uses an eight-speed dual-clutch, while the transmission for the lesser motor is an old-school torque converter automatic. As mentioned, production is scheduled to begin before the fourth quarter.
