2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid And Panamera GTS Storm In With V8 Power

Key Takeaways

  • Porsche’s 2025 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid boasts 771 horsepower, matching the Bentley Continental GT.
  • Top speed of 202 mph – faster than its predecessor.
  • GTS variant offers enhanced handling without the weight of a hybrid.

Porsche has revealed two new high-performance variants of its luxurious Panamera sedan: the Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS. For the former, the addition of an S to the trunk badge means an increase in performance from the electrified twin-turbo V8, now achieving 771 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque – the same you get in the all-new Bentley Continental GT. Interestingly, the four-door Porsche is 0.3 seconds quicker to 60 mph than the Conti and two-tenths quicker than the last Turbo S E-Hybrid, recording a sprint time of 2.8 seconds. The top speed arrives at 202 mph.

This performance comes courtesy of a 187-hp electric motor and a 591-hp V8 for a combined increase of 81 hp versus the previous Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Along with more oomph, the electrified Panamera Turbo S is also more efficient, with the 25.9 kWh (gross) battery pack storing 45% more energy than its predecessor. Recuperation now operates at 88kW, making for a more efficient all-electric drive. Let’s see how it and the non-hybrid GTS, now with 20 hp more than before, compare to their siblings.

Founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, the brand is most famous for the 911 line of sports cars, which first launched in September 1963. But it was the Porsche 356 that came first, and subsequently, Porsche has expanded its model lineup to include a variety of sports cars, supercars, SUVs, sedans, and even EVs. Porsche has a rich history in motorsport, with 19 outright Le Mans victories to its name, among various other titles.

Looks Fast, Goes Even Faster

The Turbo S variant is distinguished by unique body-color bumpers and Turbonite metallic grey accents for the front air blades, rear bumper strip, and forged 21-inch centerlock wheels. The GTS wears the same Turbo S wheels but in Anthracite Grey, and it gets GTS logos on the sides and rear, as well as black HD Matrix Design LED headlights, Exclusive Design taillights, satin black exterior trim on the rear bumper, side skirts, and glasshouse surrounds, and red-painted brake calipers. On the Turbo S, the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system is standard (440mm front and 410mm rear discs) and comes in your choice of yellow or Acid Green, the color typically used to signify hybrid power since the 918 Spyder. Both cars wear Dark Bronze exhaust tips.

Optionally, Turbo Panamera models can be had with the Aerokit that helped the Turbo S claim a new Nürburgring record. This features carbon fiber front air blades, side skirts, and rear diffuser, and the front spoiler lip works with a Gurney flap on the adaptive four-way rear spoiler to provide up to 132 lbs of downforce at 124 mph. Also key to the new record were specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and the Porsche Active Ride system. This high-voltage suspension can only work with E-Hybrid models, so the GTS gets retuned dual-chamber two-valve air suspension with Porsche Active Stability Management. The GTS is also 10 mm lower, has reinforced anti-roll bars, and has a lower basic spring rate. The PTV Plus limited-slip differential also features.

Interior, Price, And Availability

Little has changed inside, but the GTS can be had with the optional Sport Chrono Package, as usual. It can also be had with a GTS-specific color combo: either Carmine Red or Slate Grey Neo. Race-Tex faux suede adorns the headliner, armrests, door panels, and the centers of the 18-way adaptive sport seats. Matte carbon fiber interior trims are also available. For the Turbo S, you get Turbonite-colored trim strips, belt straps, center console controls, steering trim, and contrast stitching for the seats, door panel trims, dashboard, and floor mats.

The headliner here is also Race-Tex. And as for pricing and timing, the new models will arrive late in the first quarter of 2025, with the GTS starting at $154,200 and the Turbo S E-Hybrid starting at $226,500 (excluding $1,995 for destination). Orders are now open.
