One-Off Lamborghini Revuelto Looks Like It’s Doing 250 MPH While Standing Still

Key Takeaways

  • Lamborghini displays unique customizations with a one-of-a-kind Revuelto, drawing inspiration from Sardinian seascapes.
  • Hand-painted design uses various shades of blue combined to create depth, resembling waves hitting a cliff.
  • Interior receives meticulous attention to detail, with a new stitching tool developed to produce a water-like effect on the embroidery.

It’s summer show season in the Northern Hemisphere, and automakers big and small are looking for ways of attracting the attention of wealthy customers with unique new cars and exciting twists on existing creations. For Lamborghini, that translates to showing off what its Ad Personam personalization division can do with a new Revuelto “Opera Unica,” which translates as “unique piece of design.”

The last such creation appeared at Art Basel at the end of last year. Unique the new supercar’s finish certainly is; having been painted by hand, this exact design can never be repeated. The one-off build plays with various hues of blue and is said to be inspired by the seascapes of Sardinia, a beautiful Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea.

Painted And Splashed, Not Just Sprayed

Lamborghini explored two-tone and three-tone paint fading for the base coatings, with three separate shades of blue combined to create the effect of depth. These were a light Blu Tawaret as the base color for the front panels and roof, while a brighter blue called Blu Cepheus created a fading effect. The last hue, Blu Okeanos, gives an even deeper finish on the hood and around the front splitter. On top of that, paint was applied onto the car by hand to recreate the effect of waves hitting a cliff.

Some of this paint was brushed on and some was applied with a spatula to create unique effects. To ensure quality, special coating techniques were employed, particularly for areas like the start/stop button cover. Some black Nera Bocca accents appear around the front of the car, complemented by a carbon fiber splitter and sills, Shiny Black with Diamond Polished Altanero wheels, and black calipers for the carbon-ceramic braking system.

A Masterful Interior

With so much effort expended on the exterior, the cabin needed similar attention for a cohesive look, and the special embroidery applied to this Opera Unica took 85 hours alone. That wasn’t to stitch motifs and accents, but just to produce a new tool to create a watery effect on the stitching. The colors chosen here start with a base of Blu Delphinus, while a lighter Blu Amon shade appears on the seatbacks, doors, and center console trims. Biacno Leda (white) stitching and piping add a splash of light, while the new stitching tool was used to apply tri-tone embroidery in Blu Amon, Blu Chepeus, and Biacno Leda.

Finally, a Blu Mira accent appears on the carbon fiber Opera Unica plaque on the rear wall of the cockpit and on the aforementioned start/stop button. The new creation was unveiled during a private event at the luxury resort of Cala di Volpe on the northern shores of Sardinia, but Californians will have something just as special to pore over in two weeks as the new Temerario debuts on the lawns of Pebble Beach on August 16.
