You Can FINALLY Order The First-Ever Electric Dodge Muscle Car

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona has been controversial, to say the least, but the first-ever electric muscle car from Dodge is now available to order. It’s time to see whether the haters will be proven right and whether or not the electric Charger will be in hot demand or not.

Dodge has launched what it calls the First Call – a cute homage to the Last Call special editions for the outgoing V8-powered version of the muscle car – launching a new configurator for the Charger Daytona with 3D animation to hype up would-be buyers. For now, you can only buy two trims, and while we know there will be nine power levels overall, only two are available at launch.

Enough Power To Rival The Old Hemi V8s

The trims are the Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack, and each comes with a Direct Connection power upgrade free of charge (first model year only).

Because of the Stage 1 upgrade, even the base R/T trim has nearly 500 horsepower on tap. The package takes it from 456 horsepower in base form to 496 hp, with torque pegged at 404 lb-ft. The Scat Pack goes straight to Stage 2 and includes the Track Pack with it. Power here stands at 670 hp and 627 lb-ft, up from 630 hp in base form. This results in a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds.

Pricing, Tax Credits, And Purchase Benefits

All 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models benefit from either a Level 2 home charger or $600 in charging credits through Stellantis’ Free2Move campaign. More importantly, both trims are eligible for the full $,7500 Inflation Reduction Act tax credit. To promote rapid sales, Dodge has also upped the ante for anyone visiting a certified Daytona dealership to place a “sold” order in person before October 31, giving them the following:

  • A two-day high-performance driving program at the Radford Racing School in Arizona
  • An exclusive point of contact through the Dodge Charger Daytona VIP concierge for all your ownership queries and to help schedule your trip to the Radford Racing School
  • A special First Call welcome kit with a letter of authenticity, Dodge-branded leather driving gloves, and more

As for pricing, the full pricing and specifications were announced early last month for the two available trims:

From next year, more power levels will be made available, and Dodge will introduce the 2025 Charger (no Daytona suffix) Sixpack with the Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six under the hood producing 550 hp. All powertrains will be available in either two- or four-door form, but regardless of which body style you choose, it’s still called the Charger, as the Challenger name has been put on ice.
