Here’s How Much You’ll Pay For An Automatic Toyota GR Corolla

Pricing has been announced for the 2025 Toyota GR Corolla, which is now available with a new eight-speed automatic transmission for people who don’t want to row their own gears on the standard six-speed manual. We knew the addition of an automatic would likely come with an additional cost, but prices have increased across the board for Toyota’s hot hatchback.

You will now pay $38,860, a $2,360 increase over last year’s starting price of $36,500 for the base GR Corolla Core trim level. The eight-speed automatic adds $2,000 to the price, bringing it to $40,860 for the cheapest two-pedal model. These prices exclude a $1,135 dealer processing and handling fee.

The Circuit Edition is gone for 2025, replaced by a new Premium Plus trim priced at $45,515 with the manual or $47,515 with the automatic. For reference, the Circuit Edition sold for $45,140 in the 2024 model year. The Premium Plus adds similar features that were found on the Circuit, including a forged carbon fiber roof, hood bulge, matte black wheels, and head-up display. Sadly, the Circuit’s Blue Flame paint is no longer available. The colors for 2025 include Black, Ice Cap, Heavy Metal, and Supersonic Red.

More Torque, Better Launch

As before, the GR Corolla is powered by Toyota’s most power-dense engine ever. A tiny 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder spits out 300 horsepower, the same as last year, but the torque has been increased from 273 to 295 lb-ft, the amount previously produced by the Morizo Edition. Power still goes out to a GR-Four all-wheel-drive system with front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials that are now standard for 2025.

Toyota says it updated the clutch on the manual transmission to feel snappier on the return stroke during quick starts. The Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) should be even quicker because it includes launch control as standard. Toyota also made changes to the front bumper in order to fit a sub-radiator and transmission fluid cooler on the DAT-equipped models. Toyota is currently working on an even hotter GRMN Corolla, but no details have been officially revealed.
