Ford’s Raptor R Isn’t The Only way To Get An 800-HP F-150

Toward the end of last year, Ford announced that the updated F-150 Raptor R would produce 720 horsepower, beating the now-discontinued 702-hp Ram TRX. That’s an impressive figure, but now Hennessey has launched an even more powerful take on the F-150 called the Venom 800 Super Truck. As its name suggests, this produces 800 horsepower (at 6,200 rpm) and 757 lb-ft of torque (at 4,100 rpm), enabling 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds. Naturally, Hennessey can offer much more powerful versions of the F-150, too, but the Venom 800 is meant to appeal to customers who missed out on the Raptor R.

Performance And Aesthetic Enhancements

The Raptor R has a 5.2-liter V8, but Hennessey’s creation is based on a 5.0-liter V8. The improved output comes courtesy of a 3.0-liter supercharger, an upgraded air-to-water intercooler, larger fuel injectors, a high-flow induction system, a cat-back exhaust, and Hennessey’s custom software tune. The truck also boasts six-piston Brembo brakes, a six-inch BDS suspension lift with Fox coilovers and upgraded rear shocks, and 20-inch wheels with 35-inch off-road tires.

Speaking of aesthetic changes, steel Venom bumpers have been fitted on each end of the truck with LED off-road lights in the front bumper. Also included are a large single-piece carbon fiber grille panel, electronically deployable running boards, and illuminated Venom 800 fender badges. The rear Ford logo is illuminated, too, while body-color fender flares complete the imposing look.

Interior Changes

More badging appears inside on the dashboard, where a serial-numbered plaque indicates which of the 250 units to be produced for 2024 you’ve got. Still not showy enough? More Hennessey branding appears on the embroidered headrests and floor mats, and painted US flag trim inserts have been added.

As always, Hennessey provides a warranty for its build; in this case, three years or 36,000 miles of limited coverage. As for what each of the Venom 800 Super Trucks will cost you, Hennessey has not revealed pricing but we suspect that it likely sits around the six-figure mark since the Raptor R starts at $113,420 (including destination and other fees).

“Demand for powerfully designed and engineered Hennessey trucks continues to grow strongly. Our new Venom 800 F-150 is the super truck that our clients have been asking for. Highly capable both on- and off-road, it offers the perfect combination of performance, utility, and luxury.”
