2025 Chevy Blazer EV Gains Entry-Level FWD And High-Performance SS Models

  • Chevrolet has announced an assortment of changes to the 2025 Blazer EV.
  • The big news is the addition of an entry-level variant and a range-topping SS with 595 hp.
  • The AWD and RWD variants are also more powerful and have an increased range.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV had a rough launch, but things are back on track and the company is adding new variants for 2025. The good news doesn’t end there as some versions have improved range as well as increased horsepower and torque.

The big news is the addition of a range-topping SS, which will be available in the first quarter of next year for $61,995. While it’s behind schedule, the wait appears to be worth it as the output of the dual-motor all-wheel drive system has climbed from 557 hp (415 kW / 565 PS) and 648 lb-ft (878 Nm) of torque to 595 hp (444 kW / 603 PS) and 645 lb-ft (874 Nm) of torque. This will enable the electric crossover to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds.

At the other end of the spectrum, there’s a new entry-level model with front-wheel drive. It costs $45,995 and features a motor developing 220 hp (164 kW / 223 PS) and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) of torque. We’ll learn more closer to launch, but Chevrolet said the base model will be available to order soon.

The Blazer EV AWD returns and gets a $1,200 price cut to begin at $48,995. Furthermore, the dual-motor all-wheel drive system now produces 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 355 lb-ft (481 Nm) of torque, which is an increase of 12 hp (9 kW / 12 PS) and 22 lb-ft (30 Nm). On top of that, the range increases from 279 miles (449 km) to 283 miles (455 km).

Last but not least, the rear-wheel drive variant jumps $1,395 to start at $56,990. That’s a sizable jump, but the crossover now develops 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque, which is 25 hp (19 kW / 25 PS) more than last year’s model. The range also climbs by 10 miles (16 km) to 334 miles (538 km) overall.

The rear- and all-wheel drive variants are currently available to order and the models are eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. Besides the aforementioned tweaks, there are a handful of other changes including new Midnight and Sport packages on the LT trim. The Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system comes standard on the SS, while it’s optional on the LT and RS AWD. Customers will also find a new two-tone roof option on the LT and RS trims.
