The Most Expensive Toyota Land Cruiser Is Now $12,500 Cheaper

The Toyota Land Cruiser returned to America for MY2024, much to the delight of off-roading fans who require a tough, rugged, and luxurious SUV. It was already well-rounded, so changes for the new model year are mild but extensive. Sadly, US-based customers still can’t get their hands on the Land Cruiser 300, although the mechanically identical Lexus LX is available stateside.

For a start, the $74,950 First Edition trim is no longer being offered. Potential buyers now have the choice of two trims, namely the 1958 grade and the Land Cruiser trim. The former receives the retro-styled round LED headlights, a Toyota heritage grille, automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, heated fabric seats, full-time four-wheel drive, and more. For MY2025, integrated liftgate lights have been included, providing greater illumination in the cargo area. These upgrades come at a minor price increase, with the 1958 and Land Cruiser trims now $500 more expensive.

Two Trims To Choose From, And They’re Both Well-Equipped

The plusher Land Cruiser trim receives additional luxury features, including power-operated front seats with heating/ventilation functionality, SofTex upholstery, and a 10-speaker sound system. A dual 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and touchscreen are also part of the package. A Premium Package is also available for the Land Cruiser grade. This introduces leather seats, a 14-speaker JBL sound system, a power-operated moonroof, and a head-up display, among other things.

Last year’s colors are carried over for MY2025, but customers can now also choose a monotone Heritage Blue finish for the Land Cruiser. Aside from the new color and integrated liftgate lights, the driver assistance suite has been upgraded with new sensors that enhance the pedestrian-detection. What’s more, it can now detect motorbikes. There’s also a driver monitor assist that keeps tabs on the driver and can even slow the vehicle down in the case of an emergency.

Just One Engine Choice For The 2025 Land Cruiser

As a reminder, all Land Cruiser models are powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with electrical assistance. It produces 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque and sends power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Toyota estimates a combined fuel economy figure of 23 mpg.

Considering the $6,000 price difference between the 1958 and Land Cruiser trims, it’s surprising that Toyota hasn’t added a trim between the two grades. Future model year updates may see the introduction of new trims, and there will probably be more special editions down the line.
