Mopar Teases Rugged-Looking Ram 2500 Ahead Of SEMA 2024

SEMA 2024 is just over a month away, and we can expect some exciting concepts and creations to come our way. This includes a Ram 2500-based creation from Mopar, with the Stellantis-owned performance brand teasing a unique truck ahead of the aftermarket auto show.

Not much is known about the mystery truck, but Mopar has given us a clue. “Obstacles on the job site or the trail are no match for this beastly full-size concept,” reads the caption. That doesn’t give us much to work with, but there are a few tidbits that can be deciphered here.

Rough ‘N Ready Ram 2500 Coming To SEMA 2024

This suggests that the new concept will be a seriously capable off-roader, and that’s saying a lot considering the new lineup of Ram trucks is adept at traversing challenging terrain. Based on the fact that Mopar describes it as a “beastly full-size concept,” it’s safe to assume that the build will be based on the 2500.

The accompanying image supports this theory. The teaser showcases the brawny front end of the 2500, one of Ram’s larger pickup trucks. But the details show us this isn’t your average pickup truck. Finishes in a rugged-looking light brown/beige color, the concept features a subtle hood scoop with a black-painted strip that has a unique pattern. The outer air vents are also painted in black and read “2500 Heavy Duty.”

Here’s What We Can Expect

On the bumper, we can see red-painted recovery points and a winch, underscoring the concept’s rugged and adventurous personality. The “job site” part of the teaser suggests the SEMA 2024 build will also have some accessories aimed at making the 2500 a practical companion on construction sites and similar settings.

Aside from that, Mopar hasn’t shared much about the new pickup truck. But with SEMA 2024 opening its doors on November 5, we don’t have much longer to wait. It’s worth noting that the new concept bears a striking resemblance to last year’s 2500 concept, although that had red accents on the front logo.

Perhaps Stellantis Will Bring Other Builds To SEMA 2023

We expect more to come from the Mopar umbrella; in 2023, the performance wing showcased a host of creations from the various Stellantis brands, including an electrified classic muscle car restomod, and a Jeep Wrangler 4xe-based build. We hope to see Ram arrive at SEMA 2023 with an RHO-based one-off, but OEM participation has been declining of late, and we doubt Stellantis will make too much of a splash.
