900-HP Shelby American F-150 Baja Raptor Truck Has A GT500 Heart

If the Ram TRX had not gone temporarily extinct, it would be sweating right now. Shelby American has revealed a range of Ford F-150 Baja Raptor trucks that deliver peaks of over 900 horsepower on pump gas, with both V6 Raptor and V8 Raptor R variants available. The new truck line makes its public debut at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale this Friday, but is already available for order from Shelby dealers.

Fox Live Valve dampers find themselves under the enormous arches of the V8, and a BDS lift kit helps add clearance to the V6, while off-road bumpers and underbody plating help to protect either truck from scrapes. You also get additional LED lighting on both the bumper and the roll bar, various badges and stripes, and even a spare pair of off-road tires strapped to the bed.

Shelby doesn’t go into extensive details about the upgrades for the V6 EcoBoost engine, but we assume it’s little more than a software tune and an intake. The V8-powered version, however, benefits from a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust system and a Shelby by Whipple 3.8-liter supercharger, with a Bengal Red powder-coated intake manifold.

Still – if 900 ponies on pump gas is enough for a Lamborghini, this looks like something of a bargain.
