Polestar has officially launched its latest model, the Polestar 4, in the United States, with a starting price of $54,900. This announcement follows the successful introduction of the Polestar 4 in China, Europe, and Australia earlier this year. North American production is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024, with deliveries expected by the fourth quarter, meaning we should see Polestar’s hottest-new model on the road by the end of the year.

This stylish, coupe-like SUV is the boldest design from the brand yet, offering enhanced aerodynamics with the spaciousness of an SUV. As odd as it is, this model competes in-between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3, going up against models like the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E. With the Polestar 3 also set to enter production mid-way through 2024, Polestar is set to have a highly productive year.
Technology, Safety, And A Ballooning Price
The model comes with plenty of standard features, like 20-inch Aero alloy wheels, panoramic glass roof, adaptive cruise control, 360 parking camera with 3D view, and much more. 8 different trims can be chosen from, depending on if you opt for single or dual motor and/or one of the extra packs. The Pilot pack, which is standard on Dual Range versions, adds features like Pilot and Lane Change assist in addition to 21-inch Pro wheels, black seat belts with a Swedish gold stripe, and Swedish gold valve stem caps. Plus Pack is then the comfort pack, adding a heads-up display, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, 12-way adjustable seats, a Harmon Kardon sound system, and more.

The Performance Pack is only available on the Dual Motor Long Range models, adding 22-inch Performance forged wheels, Brembo 4-piston brake calipers in Swedish gold, summer performance tires, Polestar engineered performance chassis, Swedish gold seat belts and valve stem caps.
The Polestar 4 starts at $54,900 for the Long Range Single Motor version, and adding another motor and all the packs grows that number by almost $20,000 to the Fully Loaded Long Range Dual Motor at $72,900.
The Hottest Production Polestar Yet
Unless you’re one of the lucky few who were able to get their hands on the uber-rare Polestar 1, this is the most powerful and fastest Polestar you can drive.
The Long Range Single-Motor variant produces 272 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque and is EPA estimated to have a 300-mile range. Performance on this model will be adequate but not particularly excitement-inducing. That role will go to the Long Range Dual Motor version, which offers 544 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque, good enough for a 0-60 mph sprint of just 3.7 seconds.

Previously, the company rated the Dual Motor model at 536 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque, so the company seems to have found a little more power somewhere along the way. This, when equipped with the Performance pack, should be mighty capable around a track and should be able to give something like the new Model 3 Performance a run for its money.
