2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Front Tests Have Gotten More Stringent

For 2024, the IIHS made the tests more difficult to encourage automakers to spend money to continue making their vehicles safer. The updated criteria demand better protection for backseat passengers and improved pedestrian crash avoidance systems.

“At Hyundai, we are committed to providing safe vehicles to protect customers and other vulnerable road users.” – Cole Stutz, chief safety officer, Hyundai Motor North America.

Qualifying vehicles must earn a good rating in the small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, and updated side tests to be a Top Safety Pick. Moving up to Top Safety Pick+ requires good ratings in the small overlap front and updated side tests as well as an acceptable or better rating for the updated moderate front crash test.
