Check Out The Leather-Lined Cabin Of The Upcoming Hyundai Palisade

The Hyundai Palisade is a competent family SUV with a lot going for it. However, it is getting a bit old, having first seen the light of day in 2018. A new, boxier Hyundai Palisade is on the way, and thanks to a South Korean outlet, we’re getting our first look at the new Palisade’s interior.

As the flagship in the Hyundai SUV lineup, the current Palisade is already a nice place to be, with an upmarket cabin and plenty of toys. If these screenshots are anything to go by, the next generation will continue this tradition. For a start, the seats will receive sculpted leather-trimmed seats with perforation and elegant finishes. High-end stitching and piping add a classy touch to the seats and headrests. It appears leather trim will also be used for the door cards and armrests.

Palisade Interior Is Moving Upmarket

Unfortunately, Hyundai has concealed the dashboard, but we won’t be surprised if we see a variation of the Santa Fe’s fascia, albeit with more luxurious touches. The center console has open-pore wood trim and large cupholders. Let’s not forget that this is a prototype, so some of the interior elements seen here are subject to change. That said, several areas within the cabin appear to be finalized. The rear bench gives us a better look at the interior’s two-tone color scheme, with the tasteful off-white paired with an industrial gray.

The soft materials continue to the second row, and we can see classy stitching on the door cards, armrest, and lower door finishes. We’re guessing Hyundai will use synthetic leather for these trims, but that doesn’t detract from the premium effect. The rear bench reclines, improving comfort for rear occupants. Look closely, and you can see drilled speaker grilles on the rear doors, with a tastefully intricate pattern. There’s also a warning light for a door opening warning system. Interestingly, a ceiling-mounted panel has controls for the climate settings and heated seats.

New Engines Expected, Including A Hybrid

The new Palisade is expected to arrive in 2025, although reports suggest it will be revealed in late 2024. Aside from an upscale cabin and muscular, squared-off styling, the second-generation Palisade is expected to arrive with a turbocharged 2.5-liter hybrid and a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. Hyundai will finally replace the aging 3.8-liter Lambda V6. We don’t expect a fully electric model yet, with the upcoming Ioniq 9 (formerly Ioniq 7) accommodating customers seeking a battery-electric alternative.

The new Palisade, especially in high-end Caligraphy trim, is an excellent vehicle, so Hyundai must pull out all the stops with the latest model.
