Specifically, Arcane Works will be responsible for limited-edition versions of the Grenadier, with customers personalizing these thereafter for resulting hand-finished, low-volume 4x4s made with the finest of materials.

Arcane Works will partner with a curated selection of craftsmen to let customers choose various finishes and colorways to create the perfect, personalized off-roader. The word “arcane” is derived from Latin and means “understood by few; mysterious or secret,” which sounds like a pretty cool name to us.

Every Arcane Works project will be hand-finished at the Hambach plant in France, a facility that once belonged to Mercedes-Benz and was acquired by Ineos in 2021. For the time being, these special models will only be based on either the gasoline- or diesel-powered derivatives – both of which are powered by BMW engines – but we wouldn’t rule out the hydrogen variants being added to the roster at a later date.
