A Tesla Cybertruck squad car has been revealed, the latest to join the ranks of EVs used for police work. Dubbed the Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle, the police car was upfitted by UP.FIT, a division of Unplugged Performance for fleet vehicles.
Unlike cool Unplugged Performance creations, the Cybertruck looks odd even as a police cruiser. However, it’s not any less capable than regular cop cars – in fact, it’s much more capable – so criminals should better watch out and behave whenever this oddball rolls near.
Customizable For Various Uses
The UP.FIT Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol has typical equipment for police work, such as warning lights, sirens, and a PA system. It also has upgraded radio and computer systems. While the images here show a basic police vehicle, UP.FIT says it can be modified for other purposes, such as tactical, military, or search-and-rescue operations.
Features like prisoner partitions, weapon and specialty tool storage, and K9 enclosures can be added to the civil-serving Cybertruck. Other upgrades to enhance performance include specialized UP.FIT forged wheel and tire packages, advanced braking systems, optional extreme off-road upgrades, and Starlink internet connectivity. UP.FIT also offers technical training and certification for interested police departments.

“We’ve been thrilled with the direct feedback from police departments that have participated in our Cybertruck development, and we look forward to deploying these complete UP.FIT vehicles to law enforcement agencies across the nation this year,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance.
UP.FIT didn’t provide information on which version of the Cybertruck was used for its Next-Gen Patrol vehicle. But considering that the top-spec tri-motor Cyberbeast can accelerate to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, sprint a quarter mile in 11 seconds, and has a top speed of 130 mph, criminals will find it hard to pull away when this weird-looking police vehicle is on their tail.
UP.FIT has started taking orders for the Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol, but deliveries will commence in late 2024.
