New BMW M2 Coming With Wild Colors

Configurator images of the facelifted G87 have surfaced online, showing the exciting new hues on offer.

Key Takeaways

  • Images of new BMW M2 colors leaked online, including Grigio Telesto, Twilight Purple, Voodoo Blue, and Java Green II.
  • Previous rumors suggested up to 7 new shades for BMW M2, including Sao Paulo Yellow, Skyscraper Grey, and Vegas Red.
  • The new M2 model will be revealed soon, with the M2 CS rumored to arrive next year.

Images of the G87 BMW M2’s long-rumored new Individual color options have appeared on the Bimmerpost forum, reportedly thanks to a dealer leak. The images show the sports coupé in virtual render form, so they likely come from the online configurator or an order guide.

Last month, a report emerged claiming that four of the new Individual colors for the updated M2 would be Skyscraper Grey, Portimao Blue, Sao Paulo Yellow, and Vegas Red Metallic. Months earlier, in January, we were told to expect as many as seven new shades for the G87, and some of the hues leaked then are among those we get to see here.

Four New Shades

The four new colors seen in digital form are as follows:

  • Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic (a fancy Lamborghini name for grey)
  • Twilight Purple Pearl Metallic (one of the standout options for the F80 M3)
  • Voodoo Blue (a popular Porsche pigment)
  • Java Green II Metallic (a rare but expensive and beloved Bimmer hue)

If the earlier report is accurate, and we are in line for seven novel paint options with the facelifted M2, we can still expect Sao Paulo Yellow from the G82 BMW M4, Skyscraper Grey, and Vegas Red, which is actually just Fire Red with a new name in America – we’ve already seen it applied to the latest G30 5 Series.

An Imminent Debut

These images are clearly official and not renders from a third party, so it’s safe to assume that the new M2 will be revealed imminently. Our attention will then quickly turn to the M2 CS, which is reportedly arriving next year. Sadly, this is expected to arrive without the option of a manual transmission, but fear not. Despite the fact that it has become too expensive to develop new manual gearboxes, BMW is committed to the cause and is likely to continue offering them until the end of the decade.
