Key Takeaways
- Nilu27 hypercar brand teases new details of the upcoming creation.
- Interior will have analog dials instead of screens; 11,000 rpm redline suggests incredible performance from a naturally aspirated engine.
- First Nilu27 hypercar confirmed to have Michelin Cup 2 R tires and center locking wheels.
Last month, former Koenigsegg chief designer Sasha Selipanov teased a new brand called Nilu27. Not much is known about the new hypercar besides that the engine is a V12, but a pair of teasers gives us a better idea of what to expect when the car is unveiled at Pebble Beach in August. New videos, shared on Instagram, give us a glimpse into the new car.
For a start, we know the Nilu27 will have a redline of 11,000 rpm, courtesy of a teaser shot of the counterclockwise tachometer. Bathed in a dramatic red glow, the tachometer goes up to 13,000 rpm, with a racing flag motif used to identify the redline zone (perhaps the fuel cutoff is at 13k). An 11,000 rpm redline is impressive, but it still falls short of the GMA T.50’s 12,100 rpm redline. Given the lofty limit, it’s likely the Nilu27 will feature a naturally aspirated engine. You can watch the teaser video of the tachometer here.
Interior Will Be A Screen-Free Haven
Aside from that, we can see that the interior will pay attention to detail, with fantastic styling elements found in the tachometer. The 3D effect, enhanced by the backlighting, looks exquisite. The caption accompanying the video reads, “In case you were wondering, we’re not big on screens.” This obviously references the decision to go for analog dials instead of digital gauges, which are now popular throughout the entire industry. This old-school approach is exciting and will appeal to wealthy gearheads looking to recapture the golden era of motoring.

It will be interesting to see whether Nilu27 abandons screens entirely. Most buyers expect an infotainment system of some kind, but perhaps the company will conceal it or give owners the option to hide it, like the Bentley Rotating Display. Then again, Nilu27 may forego a traditional infotainment setup entirely with a driver-focused cabin devoid of modern-day fripperies. Okay, so what about the other video?
Michelin Cup 2 R Tires, Center-Locking Wheels, And Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Nilu27 has confirmed that its first creation will be shod with Michelin Cup 2 R tires, which it describes as an “obvious choice” for the supercar. “Cup 2 R tires are not only the best at what they do, they also add to the powerful stance and presence of the NILU hypercar,” reads the caption. The 325/30 ZR tires are wrapped around 21-inch, center-locking five-spoke wheels, behind which appear to be carbon ceramic brakes. You can check out the wheel and tire setup here.

If the previous teaser is anything to go by, the Nilu27 supercar will have dramatic styling to match its expected performance. So far, we’ve only been treated to a glimpse of the rear fascia, which has a centrally positioned triple exhaust setup, a rear spoiler, and a prominent diffuser. The rear suspension is also visible, which should excite gearheads. CarBuzz will learn more about this exciting project when we get some one-on-one time with Selipanov very soon. Keep an eye out for that – you won’t want to miss it.
