The Kia EV3 GT-Line Looks HOT But You Can’t Have One Yet

Key Takeaways

  • The Kia EV3 GT-Line was spotted in Korea wearing an exterior paint color allegedly exclusive to overseas markets.
  • The interior of the EV3 showcases a user-friendly widescreen display and recycled materials.
  • Expected to be priced around $30,000, the EV3 will be Kia’s most affordable EV in the US.

The Kia EV3 made its global debut last month, but it will be a while before we see one in the metal. Thankfully, a YouTuber in South Korea spotted a completely undisguised example in a parking lot. Even better, it’s the sportier-looking GT-Line variant.

While not the upcoming full-blown EV3 GT performance version, the GT-Line has cosmetic and tech advantages over the lower trims. The spied pre-production model looks as hot as the EV3 in press images, though reports from Korea state that this specific color will only be available in overseas markets.

Funky Styling

The last time we saw the EV3 GT-Line beyond press images, it was wearing black exterior paint, hiding away the aggressive details of the electric crossover. The orange hue above highlights the contrast employed by the piano black accents, though we particularly like the variant-exclusive unique set of wheels. The GT-Line differentiates itself further through the metallic strip above the license plate holder, among others.

The video also shows the EV3’s cabin, including the widescreen display covering the 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a five-inch panel for the climate controls. Despite this, the interior doesn’t look overwhelmed by screens. Kia said the EV3 will use recycled materials in the interior, including recyclable plastics for the seats, armrests, floor mats, and headliner.

Kia’s Most Affordable EV In The US

The EV3 is slated to be Kia’s most affordable battery-electric vehicle in the US, slotting below the EV6. North American production is on the cards, which would benefit the model the most in terms of pricing. If the EV3 is produced at the automaker’s Mexican factory, as reported, it could be priced at around $30,000 or even less if it qualifies for the EV Tax Credit.
