Shelby Built A Ford F-150 To Embarrass The Raptor R

Ford and Shelby have a long history of building epic performance models together, and for 2024, the two are upping the ante with a 785-horsepower supercharged version of America’s best-selling pickup truck, the Ford F-150. Shelby American starts with an F-150 Lariat 4×4 SuperCrew with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 before the modifications begin. As standard, this trim packs 400 horsepower, and you can leave it at that if you want, but the optional supercharger kit is what you really want: a Ford Racing Blue supercharger kit that nearly doubles the power output (torque figures were not disclosed). This is partnered with an open-air performance air intake with a carbon-fiber intake tube and a high-flow filter, high-performance fuel injectors, and a new aluminum heat exchanger.

Raptor-Level Suspension Upgrades

Fox shocks have proven themselves time and time again on high-performance Ford pickup trucks, so it’s no surprise Shelby turned to the suspension specialist for the FOX 2.5 factory race series shock system with internal bypass technology – similar to those used in the F-150 Raptor. There’s a Shelby by BDS three-inch lift kit applied, too, aided by 35-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 22-inch Shelby alloy wheels. Performance rear traction bars and a Borla cat-back exhaust are the finishing touches on the overall performance package.

Goes Like A Shelby, Looks Like One Too

Much has been done to the exterior of the truck to make it worthy of bearing the Shelby badge, which is why the tuner has given it a Shelby dual intake hood with hood vents and extractors. To accommodate the chunky rubber, you get body-color fender flares, and there’s a Shelby-specific front bumper assembly with a new grille and a Cobra emblem. Shelby striping is always part of the package, as are fender vents with badging, a carpet bedliner, and a body-color tonneau cover. To accommodate the extra height afforded by the lift kit, power-deployable running boards with a rock-guard and entry lights are also equipped.

The interior gets the sporty treatment, too, courtesy of carbon-fiber trim inserts, billet racing pedals, and a Shelby-spec interior upgrade with serialized console and engine plaques and Shelby embroidered floor mats.

The Shelby name doesn’t come cheap, but it gets you a lot for the money. The 2024 Ford Shelby F-150 starts at $130,000 – base truck included – with the supercharged option adding an extra $9,995. That’s a bargain in our eyes. Only 800 will be built, and you can order them directly from registered Shelby Ford dealers. Best of all, there’s a three-year/36,000-mile warranty that covers the powertrain upgrades, too.
