Back in 2018, Porsche revived one of its most famous racecars, the 935, as a modern creation based on the 911 GT2 RS road car. Almost four years later, UK-based Lanzante turned up to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with two Porsche 935 examples that have been converted to road-legal specification. Two lucky owners will now be able to experience one of Porsche’s most hardcore products at a fast food drive-thru window or stuck behind a truck on the highway.
Lanzante is world-renowned for taking vehicles that are track-only and making them drivable on public roads. The outfit has previously made a road-legal Pagani Zonda Revolucion and chopped the roof off a McLaren P1. It took 18 months to convert the two 935s, and they are being shown publicly for the first time at Goodwood.
What Makes The 935 Road Legal?
Porsche only made 77 examples of the 935, each powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six from the GT2 RS, producing 700 horsepower. Converting the car for road use required a significant number of new parts, including a unique suspension, wheels, braking system, hand brake, electronics system, and headlights (since a racecar doesn’t need those). Lanzante really deserves praise for creating the headlights from scratch because they look like they came with the car from the factory.

The two 935s shown at Goodwood each wear a classic motorsport livery. The red and white car pays homage to the Marlboro chevron design, but this time without being a rolling advertisement for cigarettes. This car should sound amazing running up the hill at Goodwood. As for the silver car, it sports a modern take on the Martini livery and will remain stationary at the event.
Lanzante Shows Its Muscle
Alongside the two 935s, Lanzante will have some incredible cars on display at its trackside stand. These include five McLaren vehicles, such as the P1 HDK, a recommissioned Speedtail, F1 GTR-97, P1 GTR-18, and Senna GTR. Attendees will also be able to view the TAG Turbo, which is powered by a 1980s Formula 1 engine. Lanzante will debut a new version of this car, limited to 11 units, called the TAG Championship.
