While our European counterparts already have access to the new Tiguan, American consumers still have to make do with the outgoing model – for now, at least. To say goodbye to the 2024 Tiguan, Volkswagen is introducing a special variant called the Wolfsburg Edition.
Named after VW’s hometown, the special edition – based on the Tiguan SE trim – receives several special touches, ranging from exclusive styling touches to unique interior finishes. Weirdly, Volkswagen hasn’t published photos of the Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition, so the vehicle pictured here is just a placeholder. So, what can we look forward to?

What Sets The Wolfsburg Edition Apart?
Volkswagen will offer the Wolfsburg Edition in four colors: Atlantic Blue, Deep Black Pearl, Platinum Gray, and Pure White. Whichever color you choose, it will be paired with machine-finished 18-inch wheels. To set the special edition apart from regular Tiguans, Volkswagen has added black and silver Wolfsburg badges, silver mirror caps and bumper accents, and black window surrounds. VW has added a splash of color with chrome trim on the doors and bumpers.

Inside, the Wolfsburg Edition gets Titan Black faux leather upholstery, enlivened by unusual Snap Orange stitching. VW says this is a subtle nod to the Habanero Orange launch color for the second-generation Tiguan. Aside from that, the run-out model receives unique trim inlays. The standard specification is similar to the SE trim on which it is based, but the Wolfsburg Edition also borrows 30-color LED ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates from the R-Line trim.
More Features For A Reasonable Price
That means the Wolfsburg Edition has keyless entry, a power-operated tailgate, remote start, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming mirror. On the entertainment front, buyers benefit from the VW Digital Cockpit and an eight-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The IQ. Drive safety suite is also part of the package.

This Is Your First Look At America’s New VW Tiguan
America’s new Volkswagen Tiguan won’t be like the one the rest of the world gets.
As for pricing, you can expect to pay $30,995 for the Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition. The 4Motion derivative will set you back $32,495 if you require AWD. Volkswagen hasn’t revealed how many units will be available, but CarBuzz has contacted the automaker for additional information. If you’d prefer to wait for the all-new Tiguan, Volkswagen will introduce a new model for MY2025. The USA won’t receive the European version. Instead, the larger Tayron – previously a China-exclusive model – will be sold in the United States under the Tiguan name to cater to American tastes. We expect a reveal to take place in the coming months, with the new model arriving for MY2025.
