Infiniti’s Best-Seller Loses Its Biggest Drawcard

Key Takeaways

  • 2025 Infiniti QX60 arrives with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
  • The four-pot has less power than the outgoing V6 but more torque and superior fuel economy.
  • Pricing starts at $50,200.

Infiniti’s most polished offering has received a flurry of updates for MY2025, with the QX60 now powered by a smaller and more efficient turbocharged four-pot. Other revisions, such as a new Black Edition package and more standard equipment for certain trims, have been introduced.

2024 Infiniti QX60

Horsepower
295 hp

Torque
270 lb-ft

Transmission
9-speed automatic

Drivetrain
FWD or AWD

Fuel Economy
21/26 MPG

The smooth 3.5-liter V6, which offered 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, has been replaced with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. While it has two fewer cylinders, power and torque figures remain respectable, with the smaller-capacity turbo delivering 268 hp and 286 lb-ft. This is the same engine used in the smaller QX50 and QX55, but thankfully, the QX60 uses a nine-speed automatic transmission instead of the CVT used by its smaller siblings.

New Engine Is Smaller And More Efficient

Downsizing the engine has brought better fuel economy figures. The 2.0-liter has estimated fuel efficiency figures of 22/28/24 mpg on the city/highway/combined cycles for the FWD variant and 22/27/24 mpg on the same cycles for the AWD derivative. Thanks to a standard transmission oil cooler, the QX60 is rated to tow up to 6,000 lbs when specified with the necessary equipment.

Four trims are offered, starting with the Pure trim. Despite its entry-level status, the Pure receives a heated steering wheel and front seats, tri-zone climate control, and leather upholstery for the first and second rows. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment setup includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a nine-speaker audio system. The Luxe adds 20-inch wheels, climate-controlled front seats, heated second-row seats, and a newly-added 17-speaker Bose sound system. Remote start is also part of the Luxe grade.

Plenty Of Trims To Choose From

Luxe models can be specified with a $1,900 Black Edition package. New for MY2025, the style-enhancing option adds gloss black exterior trim and 20-inch wheels, an illuminated Infiniti emblem and kickplates, a black headliner, and the buyer’s choice of three paint colors: Mineral Black, Majestic White, and Harbor Gray (new for 2025). Next is the QX60 Sensory, which adds massaging front seats, a motion-activated tailgate, open-pore ash wood trim, and enhanced ambient lighting.

Sitting at the top of the lineup is the Autograph trim. Offered exclusively with all-wheel drive, the range-topper receives semi-aniline leather upholstery for the first and second row, further enhanced with contrast stitching, quilting, and perforation. Second-row passengers benefit from captain’s chairs, while the driver receives a head-up display and Smart Rear View Mirror. The Autograph receives a trailer hitch receiver and harness as standard. All these revisions should keep Infiniti’s best crossover feeling fresh, but whether buyers will welcome the new four-cylinder with open arms remains to be seen.
