The only manual V8 RWD sedan left in America is a compelling proposition all on its own; the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a reminder of what AMG used to be, and after being refreshed for 2025 with new looks and a 33-inch touchscreen, it’s on par with German automakers in the interior tech department. The 2025 CT5-V Blackwing didn’t get any performance enhancements when it was revealed at the beginning of this year, and we didn’t think it needed any, but now Cadillac has addressed the issue with a new Precision Package that promises enhanced handling for all driving conditions.
More Than Just Some New Springs
The wondrous 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the Blackwing is not long for this world, but before it shuffles off its mortal coil, Cadillac wants CT5-V owners to get the most out of the experience with this new upgrade package, which includes several changes.
Precision Package improvements:
- Increased spring rates, revised suspension bushings
- Larger front stabilizer bar
- New front steering knuckles, rear suspension toe links for more aggressive track-oriented wheel alignment
- Recalibrated MagneRide dampers with retuned electronic limited-slip differential, steering, and chassis controls
- Carbon-ceramic braking upgrade

Cadillac says these enhancements will enable more precise steering on corner entry and more stability on the exit, allowing you to brake later and put the power down sooner. The changes should also transmit more feedback through the chassis, giving one the confidence to push harder and go faster.
“We built this vehicle to set records on some of [the] toughest tracks around the world [to] reward the most discerning driving enthusiast,” commented Cadillac Executive Chief Engineer Brandon Vivian. “This new Precision Package will enable the CT5-V Blackwing to be incredibly light on its feet at all speeds – both on road and track.”
We’ve had prior experience with the CT5-V Blackwing, declaring it the best-driving sports sedan ever. With that said, Cadillac clearly saw fit to improve it further, meaning the American marque isn’t resting on its laurels.

When Can You Get Your Hands On The Precision Package?
Production of the CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package is scheduled to begin early next year at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan, and like the regular model, Cadillac hasn’t yet provided pricing. We don’t expect a vast change over the 2024 model, though, which kicked off at $93,495.
