The Lamborghini Temerario Strip Tease Starts Now

Key Takeaways

  • Lamborghini shows off Huracán successor’s hexagonal taillight design.
  • The all-new supercar – expected to be called Temerario – will debut on August 16 at Monterey Car Week.
  • The twin-turbo V8 engine powering the Temerario will produce 789 horsepower, with a hybrid system boosting outputs to around 900 hp.

The long-awaited Lamborghini Huracán successor is just around the corner, with the official reveal taking place on August 16 at Monterey Car Week. Lamborghini has kept the design under wraps, with no leaks or teasers to whet our appetites. However, the automaker has now showcased the taillight design, and in typical Lamborghini fashion, it’s very striking.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the hexagonal clusters. The test mules spotted during the development phase show the same design with clear lenses. This suggests that new baby Lambo – predicted to carry the name Temerario – will have clean-looking transparent lenses that glow red when the brakes are applied.

Lamborghini

Automobili Lamborghini was created in 1963 after its founder had a disagreement with Enzo Ferrari over the cost of servicing his cars, arguing that Ferrari was overcharging for off-the-shelf parts. Enzo didn’t respond amicably, so Ferruccio took matters into his own hands with the 350 GT. Lamborghini later introduced the Miura, widely regarded as the first true supercar and one of the prettiest ever made. These days, the brand’s identity is characterized by AWD drivetrains, outrageous special editions, and raucous engines. The 1,001-hp Revuelto is its current V12 flagship, while the Urus SUV is its bestseller.

Taillight Is Our First Official Glimpse Of Temario

It’s an attractive design, with a sporty mesh effect around the lighting element. The shape itself is reminiscent of a tailpipe, much like the ones found on the V12-powered Revuelto. The lights also have a hint of the modern-day Countach, and we can see traces of the facelifted Gallardo LP-560 in the cluster.

Continuing a tradition started by its predecessors, there are vents located just below the taillights. This area will likely vent hot air from the engine, with its center to house the single-exit exhaust. The image is accompanied by a caption that reads, “You can’t hide who you are. Get ready to be guided by your authentic nature and reveal it to the world, beyond every convention.”

Magnificent Twin-Turbo V8 Will Rev Beyond 10,000 RPM

We expect the Temerario will borrow some styling cues from the larger Revuelto, but it likely won’t be a smaller copy. The baby Lambo has always had distinctive styling that sets it apart from its bigger brother. While it will certainly be striking to look at, some customers may have a tough time letting go of the discontinued V10.

Lamborghini Boss Drops Biggest Hint Yet Over Huracan Successor’s Power Output

We know what will power the Lamborghini Temerario, but an official power output remains a mystery. Now, we have a better idea of what to expect.

But the new twin-turbo V8 sounds like an incredible replacement. The motor produces an impressive 789 horsepower, but thanks to a hybrid setup, the Temario will deliver around 900 hp to the wheels. It goes without saying that performance will be strong, but what about the noise? While it will be difficult to replicate the visceral sound of 10 cylinders, the new V8 will be a screamer, with a recent teaser showing the Temario will rev beyond 10,000 rpm.
