Chevrolet Is Desperate To Make You Forget About The Camaro

Key Takeaways

  • New Chevrolet Corvette Stingray discount slashes $4,000 off MSRP.
  • The discount is eligible to existing owners/lessees of 2010 or newer Camaros.
  • Incentive is not available for MY2025 Corvette.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a performance car bargain. There’s something for everyone, with the new 1,064-horsepower ZR1 sitting on the top rung of the ladder. But for those happy to settle for the ‘entry-level’ Stingray, there are great deals to be had – depending on what sort of car you drive.

According to a dealer bulletin seen by CarsDirect, a new Chevrolet Camaro Loyalty Private Offer shaves thousands of dollars off the price of a 2024 Corvette Stingray, provided the customer owns or leases a 2010 or newer Camaro. Given that the Camaro has been discontinued, Chevy performance fans may have no choice but to upgrade to the Corvette – or jump ship and purchase a new Mustang.

Up To $4,000 Off A Box Fresh ‘Vette

The deal provides an incentive of $2,500 that can be put towards the purchase or lease of a MY2024 Corvette. Before Camaro customers get excited, it would appear this discount cannot be applied to the more powerful Z06 or E-Ray derivatives. With a starting price of $68,300, the $2,500 price cut may not seem like much, but it makes the well-priced Corvette look like an even better deal.

But customers eligible for the abovementioned deal can also apply for the lease loyalty cash bonus. This slices an extra $1,500 off the MSRP for total savings of $4,000. Paying $64,300 for a 2024 Corvette (before delivery and options) doesn’t sound like a bad deal, especially when you consider what you get from other brands for the same price. The Porsche 718 Cayman, for example, costs $72,800 and comes with a four-cylinder engine, not a powerful 495-horsepower V8 engine.

Corvette Needs No Help Flying Off Showroom Floors

What makes this all the more interesting is that Chevrolet doesn’t exactly need help selling the Corvette. In the first half of 2021, General Motors shifted an incredible 17,914 examples of its high-end sports car – making it more popular than the (much) more affordable Mazda MX-5 Miata, Toyota GR86, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota GR Supra, Nissan Z, and BMW Z4 – combined.

The American icon means much more to the United States than just being a cool sports car, and its roots run deeper than you think.

With that in mind, Chevrolet would never need to levy the Corvette with incentives. It’s worth noting that GM may want to get rid of the existing MY2024 inventory, especially as the 2025 Corvette lineup was announced in recent months. CarBuzz has contacted Chevrolet for more information and to confirm the discount, but it seems that this is worth taking advantage of if you’re a Camaro owner looking to upgrade to Chevy’s mid-engined performer.
