2025 Mazda CX-30 And Miata Now Have Even More In Common

Key Takeaways

  • 2025 Mazda CX-30 retains the same base price of $24,995; other trims increased by $150.
  • Amazon Alexa Built-in is now included on all models.
  • Aero Gray Metallic paint is now available at $450.

Last year, the 2024 Mazda CX-30 was updated with a new Carbon Turbo trim and a new infotainment system, both of which contributed to the crossover’s $2,045 price increase over the 2023 model. For 2025, the popular family car arrives with very subtle refinements, but it carries the same base price of $24,995 (excluding $1,420 for destination everywhere but Alaska, where you’ll pay an extra $45).

Pricing for the 2025 range increases elsewhere, with every trim in the lineup seeing an increase of $150, very modest inflation for a new model year.

What’s New For 2025

Engine options carry over unchanged, with 2.5 models still powered by the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine. This naturally aspirated mill offers maximum outputs of 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, feeding the i-Activ AWD system through a six-speed automatic. 2.5 Turbo models are, as you’d expect, turbocharged, and they offer up to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, but these figures are the same as the 2024 CX-30. In fact, almost everything is the same besides the addition of new paint and Alexa Built-in integration for easier hands-free operation.

The newly available paint finish is called Aero Gray Metallic, which has been borrowed from the MX-5 Miata, and it carries a premium of $450, $145 less than the stunning Soul Red Crystal Metallic finish and the same as Snowflake White Pearl Mica, another popular option. The optional palette for 2025 is as follows:

  • Aero Gray Metallic – $450
  • Soul Red Crystal Metallic – $595
  • Machine Gray Metallic – $595
  • Polymetal Gray Metallic – $450
  • Snowflake White Pearl Mica – $450
  • Ceramic Metallic – $450

Good Value For Money

In base form, the CX-30 offers an 8.8-inch infotainment display, a six-speaker sound system, a seven-inch driver display, push-button start, keyless entry, and fabric seating. As mentioned, this costs just below $25,000, but if you’d rather have something with a more rugged focus, the Subaru Crosstrek is worth consideration. It also powers all four wheels but has 8.7 inches of ground clearance, although it’s worth noting that the base model’s 152-hp 2.0-liter engine and CVT won’t appeal to the keen driver.

Where do the Mazda CX-30, CX-5, CX-50, CX-70, and CX-90 fit in together?

As always, Mazda offers the most engaging experience behind the wheel so long as you’re on asphalt, but the Crosstrek will outperform it off the beaten path for not much more cash. While we await a 2025 model, the 2024 Crosstrek is priced at $25,195 (excluding $1,225 for destination). If you spend some time camping, get the Subie. If not, you’ll probably enjoy daily driving the Mazda more.
