With the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Sedan already having one foot out the door, the Nissan Versa will enter the 2025 model year as the cheapest brand-new car one can buy on US soil. That still holds true in spite of the significant price hike coming for the Nissan sedan, reflecting at least a $500 increase across the range.
Still offered in four trim levels, the 2025 Nissan Versa starts at $17,190 for the S variant with manual transmission, a $510 increase over its 2024 pricing. The S with Xtronic CVT is priced at $18,990, while the higher SV goes over the $20,000 mark at $20,490. The top-spec SR enters the next model year with a $21,190 price tag. The prices mentioned don’t include $1,140 destination and handling charges.

What’s New For 2025?
There are no visible changes to Nissan’s most affordable car on the market for MY2025 – except for the LED headlights with LED DRLs that are now standard across the range. What’s new, however, is the introduction of the Nissan Maintenance Care program, which covers inspections and up to three oil changes for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. This incentive is available in all 2025 Nissan models, including the redesigned Kicks.

Despite the affordable pricing, the Versa comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, High Beam Assist. Tech features like Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Driver Alertness are all standard in the SV and SR, while Adaptive Cruise Control is exclusively available in the top-spec SR.
Scarce Options For Cheap Cars
The 2025 Nissan Versa is already on sale at this time. Keeping the Versa under the $20,000 mark is significant as it will reign as the only car Americans can buy in this price range. The Mirage G4 sedan and Mirage hatchback are being discontinued for the 2025 model year, with production ending this year. Mitsubishi, however, confirmed to CarBuzz that inventory is expected to last until summer 2025.
With the new pricing, the Versa is one of the three Nissan models to start under $22,000 and one of six vehicles offered under $30,000. The options for affordable vehicles are becoming scarce each year, so much so that automakers are starting to capitalize on this segment.
