Land Rover Parties In Ibiza With A New Ultra-limited Edition Defender ‘Eivissa’

If you’re going to debut a limited edition model to the masses and want the on-site experience to be something unforgettable, spending a few weeks on the Spanish island of Ibiza is a great way to do it. Land Rover has taken over the Mediterranean island, which offers a unique contrast between lush, wild landscape and modern nightlife.

The life of the party, which began on September 12 and runs until the 29th, is a pair of very special edition Land Rover Defenders that only a handful of people will ever be able to call their own.

Members Only

The event is called Destination Defender and was intended to unveil two new versions of the off-road capable Defender while guests enjoy a bevy of experiences that include hiking, wellness activities, off-road adventure, and more. The vehicles, based on both the Defender 90 and 110 body styles, are dubbed ‘Eivissa,’ which, in the Western Romance Language of Catalan, means Ibiza, and pays tribute to the islands’ vibrant lifestyle.

There are only six models produced, making them extremely rare, and to make them even harder to obtain, only those lucky enough to attend the island event are eligible to secure one. More than just a few stickers and a fancy name, Land Rover further drives home the connection between Eivissa and the island by which it was inspired, with two new striking colors introduced.

From Sunrise To Noontide

The four-door 190 model is treated to a warm golden finish called “Sunrise,” to signify the island’s magical day break, and is contrasted by hits of deep black throughout, including the lower portion of both bumpers, fender vent trim, flanks, roof, and wheels. Both versions get special edition Eivissa badging which is surprisingly subtle, consisting of only very small, square labels, though the exclusive paint colors will surely do the job of informing onlookers that these are something special.

The smaller, two-door 90 body style is slathered in light blue “Noontide,” to pay homage to the island’s breathtaking views of the clear sea and skies. It’s been highlighted with white wheels to match the Defender’s top, which echoes the white-topped houses that line the island. No additional information was offered by Land Rover regarding either vehicle’s engines or their expected elevated price tag.
