This 6X6 Land Rover Defender Is A $375,000 Beast

There is currently no shortage of six-figure, six-wheeled off-road vehicles built to help wealthy clients survive a potential apocalyptic event. Now, a Florida-based company called Apocalypse Manufacturing, which has already revealed 6×6 versions of the Ford Bronco and Rivian R1T, has built one using a Land Rover Defender as a base, and it looks about as epic as you’d expect. Apocalypse didn’t just use any regular Defender for this build; it started with the V8 Carpathian Edition, meaning it packs a supercharged V8 under the hood. The project has been dubbed the Apocalypse World Ender.

“The World Ender is a project a year in the making. This vehicle represents the culmination of our expertise in creating durable, high-performance, ultra-luxury machines designed to eat the legendary Mercedes G-Wagon 6×6’s lunch. In an unpredictable world, we believe the World Ender will provide both peace of mind and unrivaled capability for those who demand the best.”

– Joseph Ghattas, Founder and CEO of Apocalypse Manufacturing

Ultimate Rover

The World Ender takes Land Rover’s legendary off-road capability and pushes it to the max. The increasingly popular 6×6 drivetrain is propelled by a 518-horsepower supercharged V8 with side-exit exhausts. Two-inch wider fenders help contain the massive 38-inch tires, which are wrapped around 20-inch military-style wheels. A fully independent pneumatic air ride suspension lets the World Ender raise or lower itself by up to eight inches to clear any obstacle in its path. A reinforced subframe ensures that this Defender can stand up to abuse.

Though Land Rover doesn’t currently offer a Defender pickup truck, Apocalypse Manufacturing used the extra length to give the World Ender a four-foot bed with a roll cage. Unfortunately, most of that space is taken up by a full-size spare tire. Any end-of-the-world supplies will need to be mounted on the roof rack. Other visual touches include a skid plate, a push bar, and armor side steps. The Carpathian Edition’s matte wrap is retained, and Apocalypse adds some roof-mounted lights for good measure.

An Expensive Apocalypse

If you want to ride out the apocalypse in style, hopefully, you made a lot of money before society collapsed. The World Ender starts at $374,999, and can likely go even higher with customization options. Keeping in mind that a Defender 110 Carpathian Edition already costs $118,600, the price for the extensive 6×6 conversion starts to make sense.

Apocalypse Manufacturing promises that the World Ender keeps its luxurious interior, which can be personalized to suit the owner’s taste. A patented tandem middle axle reduces harmonics and feedback noise, and the 38-inch tires feature “quiet center tread” to avoid additional road noise. So long as a Land Rover dealership survives the apocalypse to keep it running, the World Ender could be a perfect companion for the end of the world.
