Thousands of vehicles are impacted including 1,095 in the United States

Aston Martin’s new era is off to a less than stellar start as the company is recalling 1,095 vehicles in the United States over a potential fire risk. In particular, an oil cooler hose could split and cause a host of problems.
According to the government, issues during the extrusion process caused “inconsistencies in the inner wall thickness of the oil cooler hose.” This paved the way for weak spots, which are susceptible to high temperatures and pressure pulsations that occur during normal vehicle operation.

If everything goes south, the oil hose can split and result in a sudden loss of oil and oil pressure. This can potentially cause the engine to stall or seize, increasing the risk of an accident. There’s also the potential for a fire, if conditions are right.
Aston Martin became aware of the issue in April, when a split hose was reported on a DBX 707. The company opened an investigation and three DB12s were reported to have suffered the same split hose in June. The manufacturing defect appears to have been discovered that same month and changes were made to address the problem.
Fast forward a few months and the automaker decided to conduct a recall. The government also noted that while the issue is similar to a previous recall, they’re not related. However, because those previously recalled vehicles don’t have the “latest level of parts,” models repaired prior to August 15 are included in the newest recall.
Aston Martin isn’t aware of any injuries or accidents related to the issue, but nine different failures have been reported globally. Owner notifications are slated to go out next week and dealers will replace the hoses with new ones.
The recall impacts 40 Vantages from the 2025 model year as well as 719 DB12s from 2024 and 2025. Aston Martin also needs to fix 336 DBX 707s from 2024 and 2025. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration went on to note thousands of vehicles destined for other countries – including 1,348 DBX 707s, 1,838 DB12s and 163 Vantages – also used the same oil cooler hose.
