Ford Willing To Pay Toyota Owners Thousands To Grab A Bronco

Brand loyalty is a familiar affair in the automotive world, and it’s not uncommon to find some drivers sticking with their brand of choice for decades as they opt for new and improved models through leases or long-term ownership. This is especially true with Toyota fans, many of whom have multiple models in their household and much of that is due to the brand’s reputation for reliability.

What then, would be the best way to try and steer a fan away from Toyota during their next vehicle search? Ford thinks it’s cash. They’re now offering $2,000 to current Toyota owners and to those that are leasing, if they’re willing to purchase or lease a Ford Bronco in any trim other than the range-topping Bronco Raptor. It’s not the first time the blue oval has made such an aggressive play, and they’re not the only ones to take part in what are known as conquest cash incentives.

How Can Ford Get You Into A New Bronco Today?

The program is called Toyota Competitive Conquest Bonus Cash, and it began at the beginning of this month and will run all the way up to January 2nd of the new year. Ford, as well as other automakers, have used similar approaches in an attempt to lure potential buyers away from the brand they’ve been relying on, and capture their business. In most cases, these bonuses are intended for specific models that compete directly with whatever vehicle it is the manufacturer is trying to sell. That’s not the case here.

Rather than setting a guideline that states the buyer or leasee must have a certain Toyota vehicle to take advantage, Ford states that it can be any model, as long as it’s younger than 1995. Whether you own or lease a Camry, Tundra, or other model born after the mid-90s, you could be eligible. In addition, you wouldn’t have to give up your current Toyota on a trade-in or lease break. That’s right, Ford’s deal would allow you to keep or unload your Toyota, they just want you in a Bronco.

Not So Fast, Outsiders

Beyond the 1995 cut off date mentioned above, there’s another caveat to all of this and it involves your location. Californians that live in Los Angeles or San Francisco are eligible, as are those in the cities of Seattle, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Orlando. All other parts of the country aren’t eligible for this particular program, but often times automakers and even specific dealers have incentive programs available, though this is one of the more impactful offers.

If this incentive sounds at all familiar, Ford has made similar offers in the past, though more concentrated. That is, they’ve gone after certain Jeep and Subaru models specifically, doing their best to get people into a new Bronco.

More Dollars To Be Had?

For those in California, there is a chance to increase that $2,000 dollar payout considerably. Right now, Ford has an offer on the table for $1,000 in retail bonus cash and, if you can find one, a 2023 Bronco carries $6,000 in retail customer cash, which, combined with the conquest cash, would mean $8,000. Again, that search is going to be tough as ’23 models at this point are few and far between, but if you’re in the market and happen to be in the right location, then a Bronco should be on your list of possibilities.
