Audi RS7 Legacy Edition Goes Wild With ABT’s 710 HP Upgrade

  • The Audi’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 now produces a 710 hp and 700 lb-ft.
  • ABT’s mods include height-adjustable springs and new wheels for improved handling and style.
  • The performance upgrades are complemented by carbon fiber add-ons.

The Audi RS7 Sportback is one of the last great, high-performance super sedans with a combustion engine, but every car can be made better, so ABT has just launched a suite of new upgrades. In addition to improving the car’s performance, these changes make the car look more flamboyant without going over the top.

Starting on the performance side of things, the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 has been tweaked, bumping horsepower from 621 hp to 710 hp while torque has risen from 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) to 700 lb-ft (949 Nm). These gains have been achieved with the fitment of ABT’s engine control unit and helped by a stainless steel exhaust with electronically adjustable exhaust valves.

While the current RS7 has been around for quite some time, we think it still looks superb and ABT’s changes make it look even better. They start at the front end where a new carbon fiber splitter has been fitted, together with optional new black air intakes, slightly larger than the standard ones. These new intakes are offered exclusively on the RS7 Legacy Edition, not the slightly more strained RS7-S ABT also offers.

Elsewhere, the German tuner has designed new carbon side skirts for the car. The Legacy Edition model also has carbon air vents on the front quarter panels, a carbon air vent on the hood, and a fixed carbon fiber rear spoiler. The RS7-S is a little more subtle and ditches the spoiler in favor of a small carbon fiber lip. It also lacks the quarter panel vents.

ABT has also crafted a new set of 22-inch forged wheels for its two RS7 packages, both available with a glossy black or dark smoke finish. Both the RS7 Legacy Edition and RS7-S have been equipped with height-adjustable springs, coilovers, and new anti-roll bars up to 40% stiffer than the standard units.

No ABT project would be complete without some interior upgrades, so ABT has installed a new shift knob cover, carbon fiber accents, and new paddle shifters.
