• Mate Rimac proved to be the bravest of them all, pushing the Jesko to its limits on the track.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack, Rimac Nevera, and Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution are three of the world’s craziest hypercars, and Top Gear recently managed to get all three cars, as well as the founders of the companies that built them, together on a racetrack for the first time. This is no ordinary car review.

While the three firms could be considered rivals, Christian von Koenigsegg, Mate Rimac, and John Hennessey have a lot of mutual respect for each other, and each had the chance to drive and experience the cars of their competitors.

John Hennessey first jumped behind the wheel of the Jesko Attack and seemed very impressed, commenting on how responsive the engine is and saying that it’s quite “intimidating” with the traction control dialed down. He also says it’s very raw yet still refined, giving it a bit of a dual personality. Mate Rimac then got behind the wheel of Hennessey’s creation, and didn’t hold back in pushing it to its limits, exploiting what is the most powerful combustion engine of any current production car.

Christian von Koenigsegg also had the chance to test out the Rimac Nevera and Hennessey Venom F5. He seems impressed by both, particularly the all-electric Nevera and how quickly he felt at home behind the wheel. Of the three, Mate pushed the hardest, particularly when behind the wheel of the Jesko Attack. He can be seen ripping through the gears and compares the car’s free-revving twin-turbo V8 to the engine of a motorcycle. It’s also impossible not to notice how much quicker it shifts gears than the Hennessey.

The video ends with Mate taking Christian for a ride in the Nevera, explaining some of the finer details that went into engineering it before showing off the car’s crazy tire-shredding abilities.
