The next time you see a Lamborghini Revuelto crusing the strip, don’t challenge it to a stoplight drag. The latest mid-engined V12 from Italy is officially the fastest car that DragTimes has ever shot down Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, crossing the quarter-mile beams in less than 9.5 seconds. The plug-in hybrid supercar accomplished the feat, along with a staggering 2.2-second time to 60 miles per hour, thanks to 1,001 horsepower and all-wheel-drive grip, plus some impressive powertrain engineering on Lamborghini’s part.
The Revuelto Is a Hole-Shot Hero
To see if the Lamborghini could beat the Ferrari SF90’s 9.52-second quarter-mile record at Bradenton, DragTimes host Brooks Weisblat aimed his personal, bone-stock Revuelto toward the finish line and cued up the cameras – check out the video below. With the car appropriately prepped thanks to a rear-tire burnout mode, his very first launch-controlled run saw him travel the length of the track in 9.46 seconds, shaving six-hundredths of a second off the hybrid Ferrari’s number. According to Weisblat’s on-board timing equipment, the Revuelto hit 60 in 2.18 seconds, beating Lamborghini’s estimate for the car by a tick or two.
As impressive as the car’s overall acceleration is, the launch is what blows our minds the most. In his first outing with the car, Weisblat crossed the 60-foot mark in 1.45 seconds, indicating a grippy hole shot that’s blindingly quick for a street-legal car. And that impressive achievement was on his first stint behind the wheel, with numbers only improving from there. After waiting for the sun to go down and ambient temperatures to drop, the stock Revuelto did the quarter in 9.445 seconds.

Lamborghini’s 1,001-hp Revuelto was just the beginning, but is this a more hardcore version or something else completely?
$20,000 Exhaust Sounds Great, Isn’t Much Faster
A second Revuelto on the scene, painted Lamborghini’s tantalizing Verde Scandal lime green paint, brought a $20,000 exhaust to the party but is otherwise stock. The outrageous tailpipes give the car the sort of high-rpm shriek we’d expect of a vintage Lambo, before exhaust particulate filters and pass-by noise regulations stepped in to decrescendo the internal combustion music. But while the green machine sounds rather brilliant launching from a stop, the 20-large investment doesn’t make it much faster, hitting 60 mph in 2.15 seconds and dispatching the quarter in 9.41 seconds. That’s still a bonkers amount of speed, but the lighter, freer-breathing exhaust’s benefits seem to be limited to its singing voice – a gorgeous soprano though it is.
Regardless of the noise it makes, DragTimes officially has a new ruler on the quarter-mile throne, beating out the Ferrari SF90 and 296 GTB, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and Dodge Challenger Demon. In fact, the Lamborghini Revuelto even matched the grippy launch of the Tesla Model S Plaid, whose electric powertrain is the standard bearer for instantaneous speed. Of course, with a base price well over $600,000, the Revuelto is the most expensive car in that list by a wide margin, but it’s still nice that a soulful, naturally aspirated V12 can compete in today’s performance world thanks to plug-in electrification.
