Dodge Charger Daytona’s Dual Stripes Are Cooler Than You Think

It has been over a year since Dodge introduced the Charger Daytona, its first fully electric vehicle. While modified examples are already underway, including a widebody kit by Waido and even a topdown conversion by Droptop Customs, the American automaker has yet to show one of the most basic ways of customizing a Dodge muscle car – stripes.

That changed this weekend as Dodge attended the returning Spring Fest in Southern California with a different Charger Daytona. For the first time, the electric muscle car wore stripes, but it’s more than meets the eye. Despite its five-year hiatus, the Spring Fest is known as the go-to event for Dodge Charger, Challenger, Magnum, and Chrysler 300 fans, so the appearance of the new-generation Charger there is expected.

“Spring Fest is one of the many customer events that gives us a great opportunity to meet with our owners in this region in person, give them a chance to learn about our newest products, show potential new customization options and get their direct feedback.”

Designed To Be Viewed From Under The Glass

Shown in a few images, the Dodge Charger Daytona is shown in its sinister Diamond Black Crystal paint color but highlighted by a matte black dual stripes with red trim lining. A close look at the stripes will show the Fratzog logo – Dodge’s returning emblem for its next-generation vehicles – forming a pattern that fills each stripe. It’s a cool execution for an otherwise menial modification.

Looks like Tim Kuniskis’ return at the helm spells good news for fans of Ram, Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler.

Dodge says that the Fratzog dual stripes are applicable for both the steel and glass roof variants of the Charger Daytona, designed specifically to be viewed while looking through the glass roof. That’s pretty rad, though we have yet to see images of how it works. The company has also yet to disclose how much this option would cost. Of note, the dual-stripe option has not been added to the Charger Daytona’s online configurator yet.

Future Colors In The Hands Of Fans

Apart from showing off its new stripes, Dodge also used the Spring Fest event to solicit feedback from attendees through roundtable discussions and customer clinics. They were also given the chance to vote for the potential future exterior colors for the Charger Daytona, joining the After Dark, Bludicrous, Destroyer Grey, Diamond Black, Peel Out, Redeye, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle.

The V8 lovers can’t stop it. But will they ever embrace it?

Given the strong following of its Hemi-powered predecessor, Dodge is hard-pressed to sell its first EV, even ridiculous ways to promote the car. The Charger EV is also currently heavily discounted, making it cheaper than the V8 version it replaced. Meanwhile, a new Sixpack version is available for those who still want combustion power, though we’re not sure if it gets the approval of the Brotherhood of Muscle.
