We’ve seen the shocking concept renderings, we’ve seen a version of the car out and about for ads. We’ve even seen the latest from Jaguar out and about being tested ahead of its reveal. But what we haven’t seen is what the production version of the Jaguar Type 00 will look like, though we know it’s a major departure from the likes of the F-Pace.
Jaguar
Jaguar is a premium car manufacturer from the UK, currently owned by the broader Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) group. Originally a producer of motorcycle sidecars from 1922 (under the name Swallow Sidecar Company), the manufacturer later moved to the production of passenger car bodies under the ownership of SS Cars from 1935. In 1945, SS Cars was renamed to Jaguar Cars. The manufacturer has a historic back catalog of vehicles, notably the XK, E-Type, and XJ220, with modern hits including the F-Type and F-Pace. Jaguar has pledged to become an all-electric automaker starting in 2025, with production of all combustion cars ceasing early in 2024. The brand has launched an all-new identity for its future as an electric luxury automaker.

Now we have. Sort of. It’s not official, but digital creator Theottle has taken parts of the different renderings, spy shots, and a healthy dose of automotive knowledge to try and show us what it’s going to look like. And, well, we’re not sure if we hope he’s right or wrong.
Watch As The New Jaguar Is Created From The Ashes Of A 9-5
While most creators simply show you the final product, Theottle cleverly shows the entire process. That way, we can see that the Jag was created not from scratch but actually by starting with a press image of a Saab 9-5. Yes, that’s a strange place to start, but as you watch the process, it all starts to make sense.

10 Things The Type 00 Launch Revealed About Jaguar’s Future
The company is going where it’s never gone before and maybe that’s a good thing.
Slowly but surely, the silver Saab is modified to look more and more like the upcoming Jag. It is stretched in length and height. The nose transforms from sleek Swede to blunt Brit. It’s a painstaking process and one that’s incredibly thorough. Theottle even transforms the car from the Saab’s framed windows to a frameless design, on multiple angles of the car.
The end result is quite close to what we had pictured the car to look like. For the most part at least. The artist doesn’t seem to have captured the array of slats at the rear that we’ve seen on the concepts or the blocked-off rear glass. On the other hand, maybe they just don’t think those bits will make it to production. Which seems a smart guess, really.
Jaguar’s Biggest Risk Needs To Be A Success
Some of it may be the limitations of renderings, especially when done like this, but the car doesn’t seem to look worthy of what Jaguar is expecting. This is set to be a very exclusive and very expensive model. Pricier than any normal model the company has sold so far.
Jaguar has said it expects up to 430 miles (WLTP) for the finished car and the ability to add 200 miles of range in 15 minutes. You’ll need to add that range quite frequently if you decide to use the nearly 1,000 horsepower the car will offer, too.

Type 00 heads way up North.
Whatever the result, it could still be a struggle simply for Jaguar to get it to market. After aborted attempts to launch new electric models, Jaguar killed all of its existing cars for 2025 to start next year with a fresh new line. A move that is seriously expensive and one that likely has its dealers quite upset.
Expect to see more, and likely the final car, revealed sometime before the end of this year.
