Most new cars are by many thought (or accused, depending on where you stand) to be akin to computers on wheels, and infotainment plays a significant role in a customer’s experience. With that in mind, Porsche is announcing the latest version of their PCC (Porsche Communication Management).

Set to launch in the 2026 Cayenne, Panamera, Taycan, and 911, the latest system has greater computing power and improved responsiveness. Besides hardware upgrades, the system benefits from the new Porsche App Center that recently debuted on the Macan Electric. This means users will be able to easily download popular apps such as Spotify and YouTube.

Drivers will also find Amazon Alexa, which joins Porsche Voice Pilot as a second digital assistant. It functions much like an Echo device, as users can say something along the lines of “Alexa, play country music.” Alexa can also tell you the news and weather as well as an assortment of other things.

Speaking of music, audiophiles will be excited about the arrival of Dolby Atmos technology. It can be found in vehicles equipped with premium and high-end audio systems from Bose and Burmester. Porsche claims Dolby Atmos “creates a spatial sound experience” for occupants as “sounds can be placed anywhere around the listener and reproduced with unparalleled clarity, depth and precision.”

Last but not least, Porsche Connect will be standard for 10 years on the aforementioned models. That’s an increase of seven years and it provides considerable savings, as a subscription currently costs $229 annually after a three-year trial.
