Kia Sales Are Booming

Kia’s strong start to 2025 continued through February and March, which resulted in the company having its best first quarter ever. The brand saw its sales increase 10.7 percent through the first three months of the year compared to 2024, moving 198,850 vehicles. March was also a record-breaking month for Kia, with sales jumping 13.1 percent year-over-year to 78,540 units.

The Kia K4 tumbled from its top spot in January to second place behind the Sportage, which was the brand’s best-selling model in 2024. Sales for the crossover were up 10.9 percent for March and 10.8 percent for the quarter. K4 sales increased 10.1 percent in quarter one.

The Telluride was Kia’s third-best-selling vehicle in Q1, with sales up 16.6 percent. The Carnival had a huge increase, too, jumping 52.7 percent in the first three months of 2025. Sorento sales were also up a healthy 12.9 percent. K5 sales are up a whopping 133.2 percent, increasing to 15,747.

These are Kia’s top-five sellers in 2025:

Model March 2025 Sales 2025 Sales
Kia Sportage 16,872 41,301
Kia K4/Forte 13,719 37,004
Kia Telluride 11,473 29,843
Kia Sorento 10,547 25,117
Kia K5 6,399 15,747

Despite the brand’s record-setting quarter, a few models did see their sales slip. Kia’s EVs, the EV6 and EV9, dipped 7.9 and 6.3 percent, respectively. Kia sold 3,738 EV6s and 3,756 EV9s from January to March. Kia Soul sales fell 9.4 percent, from 12,452 to 11,277, while Niro and Seltos sales also suffered. They decreased by 31.5 and 23.1 percent, respectively.

“Kia continues to deliver record sales on the strength of our product lineup and growing brand reputation, while also experiencing increased customer interest and showroom traffic. Sportage, Telluride, and Carnival achieved their highest monthly sales ever, contributing to the record breaking first quarter sales. Moreover, EV6 and EV9 have commenced fullscale production at our factory in West Point, Georgia, where an improved product and supply chain is anticipated to further accelerate the growth of Kia’s electric vehicle sales.” — Eric Watson, Kia America Vice President, Sales Operations
