It’s time for the Easter Jeep Safari again, the 59th so far. That means it’s also time for a bunch of new Jeep concept vehicles. This year, they’re entirely based on the Wrangler and the Gladiator, and many of them have retro themes. These have often focused on military and mid-century Jeeps in the past, but this time, one is themed on the 1980s and 1990s. Plus, there’s a concept we’ve seen before that has us once again wishing for a two-door Gladiator.

The Gladiator-Based Concepts
We’ll kick things off with the Gladiators, one of which is the most modified concept that’s totally new. That would be the Convoy. This Gladiator has a custom front fascia based on the SJ Gladiators of the 1960s. It’s a very bare-bones-looking vehicle with the doors and tops replaced with brown canvas pieces. The interior has brown leather to match and bed lined floors in olive drab. Jeep also fitted a Warn winch and 40-inch tires on 17-inch wheels under raised fender flares.
Next up is the Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept. This one clearly takes its inspiration from 1970s trucks with its sunset stripes and maroon paint. The white steel wheels and 40-inch tires are a perfect match. It has some major mechanical modifications, such as Dana 60 axles and adjustable air suspension. Jeep also added a Warn winch behind a custom front bumper, power side steps, a style bar for the bed, and an interior with quilted and perforated leather. The truck also features steel fender flares that are a concept part that Jeep is considering for production. Versions of these fenders appear on some of the other concepts.
Finally, we have a vehicle that’s technically based on the four-door Wrangler, but is seemingly a Gladiator in spirit. It’s the J6 Honcho, and this isn’t the first time it’s been to the Safari. It’s a concept from 2019 that’s received a new coat of paint and new wheels. It also gets those steel fenders. Mostly, though, it just has us longing for a two-door Gladiator with a longer bed again.
The Wrangler-Based Concepts
With the Wranglers, we’ll start with the sole two-door on display, the Jeep Rewind Concept. This one is pretty simple, and many of its modifications concern removing parts. It lacks a rear seat, roof and doors. But the vivid purple paint and blue and pink graphics are impossible to ignore. They’re matched by a dashboard and seat upholstery with the same colors. It sits on 37-inch wheels on 17-inch tires, and it’s outfitted with vintage accessories such as a car phone and a portable CD player.
From the minimally modded Rewind, we move to the majorly modded Bug Out 4xe Concept. This vehicle was designed for overlanding and camping, and is based on a four-door Rubicon 4xe. The rear area has had its seating removed and open space made open and flat for living accommodations. Similarly, a high roof has been added for additional clearance inside. The rear doors have been filled in with custom panels featuring battery packs for accessories. The rear tailgate comes from the Gladiator, an electric off-road scooter is stowed inside, and Jeep fitted hooks inside for a hammock.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser Concept is mainly interesting for its many concept parts. It has vented versions of the steel fender flares we previously mentioned. It also has storage boxes that can mount to the hard top and feature MOLLE attachment panels. On the roof, it has a concept light bar. All of these are parts that, if reception is strong enough and production is feasible, could end up available in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog. Other upgrades include a roof rack, rock rails, 37-inch tires, and a Jeep 2-inch lift kit.
Finally, we come to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Blueprint Concept. This one doesn’t really show anything new. Rather, this Jeep is a showcase of Jeep Performance Parts that are available. Everything on it that’s blue, is an avaialble accessory from Jeep. That includes wheels, lights, bumpers, doors, seat covers, and much more.
