If you know about Project Kahn and Chelsea Truck Co., you already know they specialize in modifying off-road SUVs and trucks with luxurious and higher-performance kit, inside and out. They’ve already handled the Jeep Wrangler and Ineos Grenadier, with pages and pages of upgrades and special features available. Now, that legacy of special treatment comes to the rebooted Land Rover Defender SUV with the so-called Defender 90 and Defender 110 Concept 001.
One of the better qualities of these project SUVs is that the upgrades are fairly tasteful and minimal; this isn’t like a Mansory project. You buy a Defender 90 or 110, then hand it over to Chelsea Truck Co. who get to work with exterior and interior mods, through the lens of Kahn design. This isn’t their first Defender collab, either, as the two collaborated on a widebody Defender 90 in 2023.
The exterior on this example gets treated to Chelsea Truck Company’s extra-wide fenders and carbon fiber rear diffuser, 3D-textured protective paint coating the lower panels, redesigned headlights, a gloss black vented hood with “Kahn” lettering, a Kahn Volcanic Rock Satin paint job with 3D military-style texturing, and a Kahn-branded rigid spare wheel cover. It now rides on 20-inch Hammerhead RS-Forged wheels paired with 33-profile all-terrain rubber.
Inside, the upgraded Defender Concept 001 features a mostly-black leather interior complemented by Britannia blue piping and upholstery accents for a nice pop of color.

This is now the most powerful Defender that Land Rover has ever made.
The release mentions this could preview a limited run of future models but doesn’t specify what exact configuration or when. The upgrades are worth at least $32,400 (£25,000), although that price appears to just include the exterior features. You can find existing 2025 Defender 90 inventory for a starting price of around $65,000 (in the U.S., that is; these companies are in the UK), so this entire project as pictured here can probably duck under $100,000 if you’re on a budget.
If you want something a little more wild, you’ll need luck finding one of the upgraded OEM Land Rover Defender OCTA SUVs, which are Land Rover’s version of what a true G-Class rival could look like.
