One of the best-looking sedans on the market is about to become one of the quickest. Hyundai has just teased the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N for what might be the last time. The company has just revealed that the high-performance streamliner will make its highly anticipated debut – not at the New York show this week, but in July.

149 HP
- Base Trim Torque

258 lb.-ft.
That’s when we’ll get to see the hyper-quick N model of the Ioniq 6 in full for the first time, and it looks almost as extreme as the raucous RN22e concept revealed back in July 2022.
Ioniq 6 N Teaser Shows Massive Rear Wing
The Ioniq 6 N comes as part of the refresh of the streamlined electric sedan, so we know it will have many of the same elements as the standard car. Those include redesigns at the front and rear, with new split headlights that make the upper lamps ultra-thin.
But the N model will have plenty of new details of its own. In the teaser, we can see that the 6 N will have a massive rear wing. That will almost certainly cut into range by adding more aero drag, but it 1) looks awesome and 2) might actually add some useful downforce at speed. You know, if you’re planning on taking your EV to the track.
We can also see what appears to be a larger ducktail spoiler on the back, and a rear bumper that looks different from the standard Ioniq 6. It also gets a healthy dose of the N-brand’s Performance Red signature trim color along the bottom edge.

We got to see the new Hyundai Ioniq 6 N in action on its way to the Nurburging – and being thrashed around the track.
Other details we’re expecting include a different and more aggressive front fascia as well as side skirts. Taller and wider wheels, a lower ride height, and a more muscular stance are all almost certainties.
Expect 5 N-Like Performance
Then there’s the actual performance. Hyundai has yet to confirm, but this model will likely be at least as powerful as the Ioniq 5 N. That N car delivers up to 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque at its maximum, and its N-tuned AWD control system allows 0-60 in under four seconds. The presumably lighter 5 N will probably be a touch quicker.
Hyundai’s N Grin Boost features are almost certain. N Grin Boost is the feature that temporarily increases power from 601 to 641. It also gives the car its faux engine sounds, which are one of the most fun parts of the Ioniq 5 N experience, besides the performance.
The Ioniq 5 N has N-specific steering and other parts like “rally-inspired” drive axles. Those parts, too, are likely bound for the 6, or at least a version of them. Range will likely drop compared to the less powerful Ioniq 6 models, but it should still be better than the 5 N’s 221 miles.

Hyundai could also have something new planned for its latest N model – even more power, perhaps? After all, it’s been a couple of years since the 5 N launched, and electric car technology advances rapidly. You’ll have to wait until July to find out for sure, but we’ll keep you updated with the latest.
